About:  Dr. Devendar is a Dr. Ponnam Devendar earned his Ph.D. in Natural Product Chemistry in 2016 from Osmania University, India, conducting his research at CSIR-CIMAP, Hyderabad under the funding of the University Grants Commission (UGC), India. His doctoral work focused on bioactive terpenoids and heterocyclic synthesis, laying the foundation for his expertise in organic and medicinal chemistry. From December 2016 to January 2019, he pursued PostDoctoral research at Central China Normal University (CCNU), Wuhan, China, under the guidance of Prof. Guang-Fu Yang. There, he specialized in the structure-based rational design and discovery of novel HPPD-inhibiting herbicides, contributing to advancements in agrochemical development. Dr. Devendar subsequently held key roles in India’s pharmaceutical industry, serving as Associate Scientist and Scientific Manager at Aragen Life Sciences (a leading CRO) and as Team Leader at Honour Lab Ltd (an API manufacturing company). His industry experience spans synthetic organic chemistry, natural products, pharmaceuticals, and drug discovery, demonstrating his versatility across research and development. An accomplished researcher, Dr. Devendar has published his work in 14 international journals (JAFC, EJMC, Topics in Current Chemistry, RSC Advance, OL, JOC, Moelcuar Catalysis, CJOC) and has successfully led multidisciplinary teams in both academia and industry.

He joined Yunnan Minzu University (YMU) as a faculty member, collaborating with Prof. Bao-Min Fan’s Research Group. His current research focuses on green organic synthesis, particularly visible-light photoredox catalysis and asymmetric synthesis, aiming to develop sustainable methodologies in synthetic chemistry. faculty member at Yunnan Minzu University (YMU), contributing to Prof. Bao-Min Fan's Research Group. His research focuses on green organic synthesis, specifically the development of visible light photo redox catalysis and asymmetric synthesis in Fan's group.
